National Planetarium
This facility is made even more exciting with the imminent sending of Malaysia's first astronaut to the International Space Station within the year 2007. Various exhibits that show the space suit, the International Space Station and how the SOYUZ spacecraft is launched are also shown in great detail.
The National Planetarium or Planetarium
It is located just outside Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens, near the vicinity of the National Mosque. As you walk up the steps towards the planetarium, you will be able to see the Ancient Observatory Park outside this building. There is a replica of the famous Stonehenge of Salisbury Plain in England. Take note of the Jai Singh Observatory replica of India.
Exhibits
The entrance to the exhibit is only RM1 and is free for children below 12 years old. You will see model of the solar systems, a plasma ball, a periscope, a model of the Space Shuttle, telescope, laser maze and the transporter room.
Visit the Viewing Gallery which is located on the second level where you will be able to see the city of kuala lumpur.
Planetarium Shows
As with any planetarium, Space Theatre shows are shown throughout the day. Tickets are priced ranging from RM2 to RM6 depending on the shows that are screened. Discounts are provided for children below 12 years old and uniformed school children.
